Awards

1. WAB President's award

The WAB will present an award (3000 €) to recognize the participation of a young (oral or poster) presenter at the biannual Congress.

The criteria are as follow:

  1. 1) Applicants must be 35 years of age or younger and must agree to attend the next WAB conference.
  2. 2) A selection committee composed of the WAB President and designated members of the Executive Committee will select a recipient at the end of the conference.
  3. 3) The awardee will be notified at the end of the congress and will receive his/her prize at the next convention.
  4. 4) The WBC Committee will contact the Nominees for the WAB President's award a few months before the WBC 2018 Congress is held.

2. Outstanding Abstract Award for Students from Developing Countries

The Organizing Committee for WBC 2018 Sapporo is pleased to announce that the outstanding abstract award will be awarded to young scientists of developing countries (B and C category countries). The award will provide free congress registration for the awarded young scientists. By offering this award, the Organizing Committee wishes to contribute to the development of young scientists (PhD students) .

The criteria are as follow:

  1. 1) An accepted scientific abstract for oral/poster presentation where the young scientist is the first author
  2. 2) The first authors must be participants of the congress.
  3. 3) Fill in the application form and send it back to the secretariat t by the 10th of January (Wed.), 2018.

3. Ruminant Well-being Award

The Ruminant Well-being Awards will be granted at the next World Buiatrics Congress to be held in Sapporo, Japan (28 Aug - 1 Sept 2018). This time, two different awards will be offered:

  1. 1. A Ruminant Well-being Research Award.
  2. 2. A Ruminant Well-being Achievement Award. With these awards, the World Association for Buiatrics (WAB) and Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health aim to raise public awareness of the important role veterinarians play in overseeing and improving ruminant well-being.
